Anies: Indonesia Must Return To Being A World Agenda Determinant

Presidential Candidate number 1 Anies Rasyid Baswedan said Indonesia must be able to return to being a country that determines the agenda and inspires the world (agenda setter).

In front of the 2023 Indonesian Foreign Policy Conference (CIFP) participants in Jakarta, Anies loudly voiced that it was time for Indonesia to become an active actor and not only as a follower in determining international policies that include the lives of many people.

"Spirit of Bandung, at the Asia Africa Conference, is an example that Indonesia is able to inspire the world," said Anies to the applause of the conference participants reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 2.

In the conference held by the Indonesian Foreign Policy Community (FPCI), Anies emphasized that Indonesia must be able to export ideas that can empower global politics.

In order to explain the ideas or directions of foreign policy, he continued, the Government must have a value holder that becomes a compass or directional pointing, so that it has a basis for footing.

The value that Anies meant, such as the privacy of human life, territorial integrity, and justice.

"All of that is our guide, apart from Pancasila, and the experiences of Indonesia that have been a setter agenda," he added.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta said that realizing this, the role of young people is important as the spearhead of Indonesia's future changes.

Apart from Anies, CIFP2023 was also attended by presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo. Anies and Ganjar were present and accepted the challenge to convey their views on politics or foreign policies that Indonesia had to do in the future.

The theme CIFP2023 is "From Non-Alignment to Creative Alignments" to reflect the importance of responding to new realita, where Indonesian active foreign politics in the 21st century needs to creatively pioneer, build, and maintain various harmony with countries from the east, west, north, and south for the national interests of Indonesia, the region, and globally.
