Socialization Of The Concepts And Goals Of The Development Of The National Capital City (IKN) Of The Archipelago: Building The Future Of Indonesia Superior

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government is trying to realize sustainable economic growth and improve national competitiveness by improving the management of the capital city area which is realized through the development of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) in East Kalimantan. In order to provide knowledge and understanding to the public, the Directorate of Information and Communication of the Economy and Maritime Affairs, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology held socialization in the form of music performances "Voice of the Archipelago: World City for All".

The activity which was carried out on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the Abdulrahman Saleh RRI Auditorium was attended by the Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nizar Patria; Director General of Information and Public Communication, Ministry of Communication and Information, Usman Kansong; Expert in the Field of Cooperation and Creative Economy of the IKN Authority Panji Himawan; and the Head of the Public Relations and HR Bureau of the IKN Authority, Firmananur. Also present were IKN Authority Communication Expert Troy Pantouw; Head of the Transportation Implementation Division of the Atyanto Busono Infrastructure Development Implementation Task Force; and the Director of Information and Communication of the Economy and Maritimes, Septriana Tangkary.

Nizar explained that this event aims to introduce IKN, which is a city whose construction is being initiated from zero, and will become Indonesia's most modern city with a smart city concept.

"Indonesia surrounds the archipelago, so it is called the capital city of the archipelago which is located right in the middle of Indonesia. IKN is the nation's big dream," he said, in a written statement, Thursday, November 30.

Troy Pantouw said that the location of IKN in East Kalimantan is also proof of equitable economic growth, which has been focused on the island of Java. IKN will also become an environmentally friendly, sustainable city, and become the center of the country's economic transformation which makes development orientation Indonesia-centric in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 3 of 2022.

"Even 13 UN agencies have committed to providing support to IKN," he explained.

In its implementation, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has targeted the construction of the basic infrastructure for Phase 1 (one) IKN, including government office buildings in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP), which will be completed in 2024. Until now, the development of the basic infrastructure development of Phase 1 IKN has reached 38.1 percent and all activities are maintained as scheduled.

Some time ago, the Ministry of PUPR also started the construction of Phase 2 IKN. This activity includes projects whose contract signings were carried out in April-May 2023, namely the Coordinating Ministry 2 building and the State Civil Apparatus Flats (ASN).

IKN, which was built from the start, is expected to be organized in accordance with theory and rules, as well as increase Indonesia's competitiveness in the global arena. According to Atyanto Busono, in addition to developing infrastructure, there will be a transformation of life and work, especially in the use of technology.

Atyanto also informed that IKN also has locations to hang out.

"There is a share street between the two national axes, which can also be used for parades," he said.
