Bandung City Government Allocates IDR 31.9 Billion For Waste Problems, Will Prepare Regional Processing

JABAR - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has disbursed a budget of Rp31.9 billion to tackle waste problems in the city of Bandung.

Bandung City Regional Secretary, Ema Sumarna said that her party would prepare waste processing facilities in each region.

"This is part mandated in the APBD-P in the form of support for facilities and infrastructure in the form of buckets, sacks, including the construction of Hangars for beards," he said, in Bandung, Thursday, November 30, which was confiscated by Antara.

Ema said the budget allocation was a form of support from the city government to prioritize handling household waste so that waste problems in the city of Bandung could be resolved at the regional level.

"There is our obligation to provide budget support to be able to keep this city away from the threat of waste," he said.

He hopes that with all the support provided by the Bandung City Government, the waste problem can be resolved at the household level.

"The garbage doesn't have to be thrown away, but let's manage it wisely and I'm sure that the approach at the regional or family level won't be too heavy," he said.

Furthermore, Ema said that the facilities and infrastructure prepared by the city government in the form of buckets, sacks and compost have been received by each region which will later be used to handle organic waste.

"This facility has been received by the community, which I believe is right on target because those who know and most need it are RT and RW with the carrying capacity of this facility," said Ema.

Therefore, he is optimistic that this waste resolution can be resolved immediately with the support of all regions through this facility which will later create a new waste-free area (KBS) in the city of Bandung.

Kemarin itu sudah melihat ada kelurahan berstatus KBS. Mudah-mudahan ini akan bergerak terus seperti teori bola sluju. Satu kelurahan, dua kelurahan, tiga kelurahan dan selanjutnya, katanya.
