Arsenal Qualify After The Goal Party Against Lens

JAKARTA - Arsenal had a goal party when they made sure to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League. In a duel in Group B at home at the Emirates Stadium, Thursday, November 30 in the morning WIB, Arsenal beat Lens 6-0. Arsenal also brought PSV Eindhoven to the knockout round.

Arsenal showed their best performance. Meanwhile, midfielder Kai Havertz skyrocketed after scoring again as well as opening the Arsenal victory party. Meanwhile, Jorginho ended it with a penalty kick.

Although they were able to break into the opponent's goal six times, all goals were produced by each player.

The victory made the Gunners advance to the knockout round after leading the Group B standings with 12 points. No competitor is able to catch Arsenal's points even though there is still one more game left

Arsenal's success in defeating Lens also helped PSV advance to the next round. PSV, who finished second after winning 3-2 over Sevilla, pocketed the eight points.

The Dutch Eredivisie club is ahead head-to-head with Lens. This made Lens' last match against Sevilla no longer influential even though they won over their opponents.

In that match, Arsenal played impressively. The success of winning the top spot in the English Premier League after beating Brentford 1-0 really motivated them.

Arsenal appeared confident and Havertz took advantage of assistant Gabriel Jesus opened the team's victory in the 13th minute.

This is Havertz's second goal in a row. Previously, he was the winner with a single goal against Brentford.

This achievement shows that the German national team player has started to check with Arsenal. After failing at Chelsea, Havertz had not found the best performance since moving to Arsenal.

But now his performance is increasing and the club seems to be making the best purchases for Havertz.

Havertz's goal made his colleagues more aggressive. The North London club's offensive game again resulted in a goal through Jesus in the 21st minute. He completed an assist from Bukayo Saka.

Next, it was Saka's turn to break into Lens' goal. This time, he got a pass from winger Gabriel Martinelli scoring in the 24th minute.

Just three minutes later, Martinelli got his next turn to change the score to 4-0.

The hosts are still not satisfied even though they have led four goals within 27 minutes.

This time, captain Martin Odegaard, who continued to pass the Japanese national team defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, contributed goals in first-half injury time. The 5-0 score for Arsenal closed 45 minutes first.

In the second half, Arsenal lowered the tempo of the game. However, Mikel Arteta's team remained ahead in possession so that Lens had difficulty chasing the goal deficit.

However, the hosts were finally able to add goals. This time, midfielder Jorginho did it from the penalty spot in the 86th minute.

Penalti diberikan setelah pemain Lens Abdukodir Khusanov dinilai menyentuh bola di kotak terlarang. Hanya wasit meninjau insiden itu lebih dulu sebelum memutuskan penalti untuk Arsenal.

The referee ignored strong protests from Khusanov after pointing to the spot. Jorginho also completed the penalty well. Contrast to the time he took the penalty with the Italian national team which had failed more often.

The score changed to 6-0 for Arsenal and lasted until the end of the match. Arsenal also followed in the footsteps of another Premier League team, Manchester City, who had already qualified.
