Led By Local Bawaslu, Surakarta City Government ASN Pledge Netrality For The 2024 Election

JATENG - State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Surakarta City Government (Pemkot) made a pledge of neutrality in the 2024 General Election. This event took place at the Surakarta City Hall yard, Central Java, Wednesday, November 29.

Chairman of the Surakarta City General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Budi Wahyono at the event acted as inspector of ceremonies as well as leading the ASN neutrality pledge.

He said the pledge of neutrality was in accordance with Law Number 7 of 2017 related to General Elections.

"There is one article if I'm not mistaken for Article 280. That all state officials, structural officials, functional officials, and village heads here are village heads. They are prohibited from taking actions that are profitable or detrimental to one of the election participants," he said.

In the pledge, ASN pledged to maintain and enforce the principle of neutrality of state civil servants.

"We pledge to maintain and enforce the principle of neutrality of state civil servants. Avoid conflicts of interest or not carry out intimidation and threats to ASN employees and all elements of society," he said.

In addition, ASN also promised to use social media wisely and not spread hate speech, fake news, and engage in money politics.

"Using social media wisely and not spreading hate speech or as well as fake news. Rejecting money politics and all kinds of gifts in any form," he said.

At this activity, the Mayor of Surakarta Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the Regional Secretary of Surakarta City Ahyani were also present.
