BSI Claims To Have Fulfilled Free Float Rules

JAKARTA - Head of Investor Relations of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) Rizky Budinanda said BSI had complied with the minimum free float limit or shares owned by the public, amounting to 7.5 percent.

According to him, currently BSI shares owned by the public have almost touched 10 percent.

"This is also related to last year's rights issue, where part of BRI's rights and BNI were released to the community, so this helps add to our free float," Rizky said in a public expose live, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, November 29.

He said the rights issue had increased BSI shares owned by the public from 5.5 percent to around 7 percent.

"Now it's also little by little this year there are some who have also released from the affiliates, so now it is certain that it is more than a provision," he said.

Meanwhile, Director of Compliance & HR BSI Tribuana Tungggadewi said the release of parts of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) shares is still in process.

Therefore, he has not been able to say who the investors will replace the ownership of some of BRI and BNI's shares in BSI.

"We will wait because the process is still not finished, so we also can't give an idea of what it will be like, who will replace it," said Dewi.

Currently, 51.47 percent of BSI's shares are owned by Mandiri, 23.24 percent are held by BNI, 15.38 percent are held by BRI, and 9.87 percent of BSI's shares are held by the public.
