Reminds Leaders Not To Mention People To Be KPK Suspects, Nawawi: This Makes A Problem!
JAKARTA - The interim chairman of the KPK, Nawawi Pomolango, reminded his colleagues not to call someone a suspect carelessly. Three Deputy Chairs of the KPK, namely Alexander Marwata, Nurul Ghufron, and Johanis Tanak, are only allowed to convey someone's legal status through an official press conference.
This was conveyed by Nawawi after Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak stated that the development of alleged project bribery at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) had been carried out. As a result, a businessman named M. Suryo was named a suspect.
"Don't before the detention or action, have you said something wrong, oh, this is already a suspect. This raises problems," Nawawi said as quoted from the Indonesian KPK YouTube show, Tuesday, November 28.
Nawawi explained that the rules for submitting the status of a suspect before the time will be tightened. Not only for the leadership but also for the KPK structure to prevent problems.
In fact, he ordered the Public Relations not to hesitate to reprimand if there were still those who did not follow the rules. "Leaders are also said to be prohibited," he said.
"This has become our POB (standard operational procedure). POB must be held. So it must really be carried out," continued Nawawi.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, agreed with Nawawi's attitude. He said that the problem that might arise from this kind of method was that the related parties fled.
"The determination of the suspect but the person who has not been detained will have other spaces and even run away. In the future, the determination of the suspect should be detained first, so as not to run away. Then a press conference is carried out so that there is legal certainty and does not run away," he said.
It is known, Johanis Tanak said Suryo had been named a suspect. The claim was made after the DJKA bribery case was filed.
"It's true (staying waiting for the sprindik, ed)," Johanis said when confirmed on Sunday, November 26.
