Jakarta KPU Complains: The Logistics Warehouse For The DKI Provincial Government Loan Election Is Still Used For Citizens' Celebrations
JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta Province complained to the DKI DPRD regarding the issue of logistics storage buildings and the recapitulation of the 2024 General Election loaned by the DKI Provincial Government.
In the meeting of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, the Head of the DKI Jakarta KPU Planning and Logistics Division, Nelvia Gustina, said that there are still sports arenas (GOR) facilitated by the DKI Provincial Government to become logistics storage sites but are still being rented out to residents for celebrations.
"Yesterday we had a chance to argue about the GOR because some GORs are still used for private celebrations in December," Nelvia said at a Commission A DPRD meeting at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 28.
In fact, Nelvia admitted that her party had previously sent a letter to the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono to ensure that the GOR had been vacated before December 1, 2023.
Bearing in mind, the regency/city KPU will distribute phase 1 election logistics containing ballot boxes, ballot booths, and plastic seal for each polling station (TPS) on December 1.
"Don't let this election celebration happen because of a personal celebration, because of a personal contract," said Nelvia.
Furthermore, the DKI Jakarta KPU also complained about the problem of the shortage of electoral logistics places. Currently, there are 11 GORs that are still being revitalized and have not yet been rebuilt. There is also an inappropriate GOR as a logistics storage area.
In fact, in the mandate of the law, local governments are required to provide facilities for electoral logistics storage locations to be used by the sub-district election committee (PPK) during the election stages.
"This GOR is revitalized in the election year. In our opinion, if the planning is mature, it should not be revitalized in the election year because we should be able to use it as a place of recapitulation," said Nelvia.
Currently, the DKI Jakarta KPU is still coordinating with the DKI Provincial Government to find alternative solutions for electoral logistics storage. There are already several GOR replacement places offered by the DKI Provincial Government, such as government buildings to former school buildings.
However, there are still two sub-districts, namely in Mampang and Kebayoran Lama which have not yet encountered alternative solutions for logistics and electoral recapitulation. Some of the sports halls used in other sub-districts still require minor improvements.
