Exceeding The Government's Target, Oil Production In Central Java And East Java Reaches 193,000 BOPD

GRESIK - SKK Migas recorded the realization of oil production in East Java and Central Java as much as 193,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) until October 2023.

This number exceeds the target set by the government, which is 181,000 BOPD.

Kepala Perwakilan SKK Migas Jawa-Bali-Nusa Tenggara (Jabanusa) Nurwahidi mengatakan produksi minyak di Jawa Timur terutama berasal dari 11 KKKS yang beroperasi di wilayah Bojonegoro, Gresik dan Pulau Madura.

"In terms of oil, thank God, we can still be above the target, 106 percent. So around 193,000 barrels of oil per day on average until October 2023," he said in the Manyar Gresik Industrial Estate, East Java, Monday, November 27.

Nurwahidi explained that although the coverage area includes Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara, oil production only focuses on the Java region, especially East Java and Central Java.

As for gas, Nurwahidi said the potential for gas production or lifting also reached this year's target of 747 million Kubik Foot Standards per Day or Million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

However, Nurwahidi admitted that the ability of gas absorption by buyers in Central Java and East Java was still not optimal.

This is because the gas production is excessive or oversupply.

The industrial absorption capability is only around 565 MMSCFD.

"Because the gas absorption is not optimal, the realization of the lifting of potential rather than lifting or lifting targets is still around 77-78 percent of the target", he explained.

Therefore, Nuwahidi continued, in the future his party will sell more gas to buyers in order to increase gas lifting to achieve the production target.
