For The Sake Of The Superior And Competitive Generation, PGRI Commits To Advance National Education
JAKARTA - A quality education system is useful for realizing a superior and competitive generation, the Indonesian Teachers' Association (PGRI) stated that it is committed to advancing this system.
"We, PGRI, teachers who are deployed throughout the country are very solid and continue to oversee the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and are committed to advancing national education," said PGRI Executive Chair Unifah Rosyidi in commemoration of National Teacher's Day 2023 and PGRI's 78th Anniversary in Jakarta, Saturday.
In the event which was attended by President Joko Widodo, he expressed his gratitude for the government's attention and support to all teachers spread across Indonesia.
"I stand here with a shaking heart on behalf of teachers throughout Indonesia thanking the President," he said.
In addition to expressing his gratitude for the attention and support so far, PGRI has also prepared a special video for the President.
"We have a lot to say but we are not able to speak, hopefully through a short video from teachers, educators, and education personnel throughout Indonesia, it can be conveyed directly to the President," he said.

Unifah revealed that at this year's commemoration, 7,000 teachers from 34 provinces were present in person and in the network.
"There are 4,000 present in this building and 3,000 in the tents and those who follow online," he said.
President Joko Widodo previously emphasized that teachers are no longer just a person who is awaited and imitated, but determines the rate of civilization.
"Teachers are no longer a person who is awaited and imitated, who is a role model for students, but a figure who determines the pace of national civilization," he said. In the event, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, November 25, it was also marked by the handover of the Dwija Praja Nugraha award to regional heads who have commitment, dedication, and high attention to the advancement of education and teachers in the chaired region.
