SOLO - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has equipped door facilities with facial recognition equipment at Solo Balapan Station, Central Java.
Public Relations Manager Daop 6 Yogyakarta Krisbiyantoro in Solo, Central Java, Saturday said that initially the installation of facial recognition doors was first carried out at Bandung Station on September 28, 2022.
Thus, currently these facilities already exist at nine other stations, namely Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya Gubeng, Malang, Solo Balapan, Gambir, Cirebon, Surabaya Pasar Turi, and Semarang Tawang Bank Central Java.
"Face recognition boarding gate aims to make it easier for long-distance train customers who want to take the train, without having to bother showing various documents such as physical boarding passes, e-boarding passes, or ID cards," he said.

For the face recognition registration process, it can be done either through the Access by KAI application or directly at the station. For the station, according to him, the registration process can be carried out on a check-in counter (CIC) machine or through a special service officer at the station.
"This process cannot be represented, it is enough to bring the e-KTP registration process directly by attaching the e-KTP to the reader device, then attaching the right or left index finger to the scanner in the e-KTP reader," he said.
Customers who cannot carry out the registration process because they do not have an e-KTP, such as for example, a child customer or an e-KTP in a state of damage can register through available service officers.
He said that registration in this way only needs to be done once and is valid up to one year.
"If you have registered, customers no longer need to print the boarding pass. Customers can go directly to the face recognition boarding gate if the time for boarding can be done," he said.
