Santer Called A Candidate For Kabareskrim, KPK Deputy For Enforcement Has No Ambition

JAKARTA - After General Listyo Sigit left the police chief, a number of candidates who would fill the Kabareskrim position continued to emerge. One of the names that is widely mentioned is the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Karyoto.

Responding to this issue, Karyoto said it was normal for him to be appointed as Inspector General (Irjen) or two stars to be nominated as Kabareskrim occupied by three-star generals. However, this 1990 National Police Academy graduate emphasized that he did not have the ambition to sit in this important position.

"If we are nominated, yes, a two star name is fine. But if we talk about ambition, no," he said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, February 16.

Karyoto also doesn't want to think about the issue. This is because he is currently doing his job at the KPK, including investigating the alleged bribery for the provision of social assistance (bansos) for COVID-19.

"In principle, wherever we work, we work well. As now there are suspicions about social assistance and others," he said.

He was also honored because his name was mentioned as a candidate for Kabareskrim. It's just that, he still wants to focus on his current job.

"The principle is that if we are nominated, it is an honor. The important thing is that we work well. Hopefully what we are doing can really benefit the nation and state. And remember that the KPK is working its responsibility to the public," he concluded.
