Fast Train Ticket Promo Ends November 30, Will It Be Extended?
JAKARTA - Promotion for fast train tickets of IDR 150,000 for one trip will end on November 30. The promo has been in effect since mid-October.
Then will the promo period be extended?
Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said to decide whether or not to extend the fast train ticket promo, his party must first coordinate with other stakeholders such as the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).
"Still waiting for the policy, not only from me, from the Minister of Transportation (Budi Karya Sumadi) later," he said when met at the Ministry of SOEs Building, Jakarta, Thursday, November 23.
Furthermore, Erick said that currently the public interest since the fast train was inaugurated has been quite large. Moreover, continued Erick, since the ticket promo of Rp. 150,000 for the premium economy class was implemented.
"This is an increase (already high), it's been running out of tickets," he said.
Promo To Encourage People To Rise Upstream
Previously, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) presented a ticket promo for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train or bettersh for IDR 150,000 for the premium economy class. This promo was launched in conjunction with the inauguration of ticket sales in the official application, namely the Fast TrainASH and in collaboration with the Access by KAI and Livin by Mandiri applications.

The promo ticket is for departure from October 18 to November 30, 2023. This promo is given as an effort to support government programs to reduce congestion and pollution as a result of the high use of private vehicles on the highway.
KCIC President Director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi said the promo was also given in the context of the 8th KCIC Anniversary which falls on October 16, 2023 and encourages the use of mobile applications for ticket bookings, especially the Fast TrainASH.
"It is hoped that through the various ticket promos, the Fast Train ticket presented can attract people to switch from highway to rail-based public transportation, especially high-speed trains," he said at the inauguration of ticket sales, at Halim Station, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 17.
