How Is PKPI Now?

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Justice and Unity Party (PKPI) no longer wants to be just 'cheerful' participants in the upcoming 2024 elections. Under the command of the General Chairman, Diaz Hendropriyono, PKPI wanted to be able to win more votes.

The Acting Secretary General of PKPI, Keke Parawansa, in his written statement said that the Muspimnas in February 2020 required parties to carry out revitalization, reorganization and restructuring at all levels. Not surprisingly, PKPI internally from June 2020 until now, there have been major changes.

"On November 18, 2020, the PKPI Secretary General on behalf of Verry Surya Hendrawan has resigned from his position because he received a new assignment from the Minister of BUMN, Erick Tohir as one of the Commissioners of Telkomsel Properti," said Takudaeng Parawansa (Keke) who also serves as PKPI Deputy Chief.

The position of PKPI treasurer, Iwan Bogananta, was also replaced by Remi Sylvia. Iwan won the trust of President Jokowi to become Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Bulgaria, Albania and Macedonia. The nine DPP Chairmen have also changed their leadership positions.

"Revitalization within the PKPI stewardship, both at the central and regional levels, has received positive reactions from party cadres and administrators," said Keke.

Keke said, the PKPI had begun to feel on the island of Java. Especially in Central Java, DI Yogyakarta and East Java. Keke explained that it is important for his party to consolidate the party so that the vote acquisition ahead of the upcoming 2024 General Election will increase the percentage of Indonesia's PKP.

"Apart from that, in the context of rejection of the 7% PT Bill on Election and Increase, PKPI together with 7 non-parliamentary political parties of the Republic of Indonesia have made a meeting with the Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian MPR, Arsul Sani. The results of the meeting had a positive impact because several other major parties and the government supported the rejection of Revise the Election Law and support the 2024 Concurrent Elections, "he said.
