COVID-19 Impacts On Head In The Clouds And Hammersonic

JAKARTA - COVID-19 or the corona virus which has begun to spread in Indonesia does not only affect health but also the world of entertainment. This is also what promoters and event organizers are concerned about, because there are many concerts and festivals in Indonesia in the near future. Most recently, 88Rising announced the postponement of Head in the Clouds (HITC) Jakarta which was supposed to be held on 7 March.

Through his Twitter account, 88Rising informed that the delay was due to the corona virus that was spreading in Asia. This is done for the safety of the audience. They will also inform you about the schedule and refunds.

Rich Brian, rapper from 88Rising responded to this tweet by writing; "I am very surprised by this and I hope I can meet you later in Jakarta, for my friends and family, be careful."

Previously, Chungha, a soloist from South Korea, canceled her attendance at HITC Jakarta because two of her staff were confirmed to have the corona virus. Chungha has done an examination and she is negative for the COVID-19 virus. Despite being negative, Chungha still canceled the series of promotions and schedules that were released.

Meanwhile, Southeast Asia's biggest metal festival Hammersonic has yet to make a decision on whether to keep going as scheduled or postponed. However, two bands have confirmed to cancel their tour and appearance at Hammersonic, they are Vulvodynia (South Africa) and Lacuna Coil (Italy).

This is because there are regulations from the country of the band concerned and the management of their respective artists that do not allow them to travel abroad. See Hammersonic's official statement below:

Not only two festival events, a number of solo concerts were also canceled due to the increasing spread of the corona virus in the world, including Indonesia. Among them are the concerts of Kim Jae Joong (former TVXQ personnel), AB6IX (Brand New Music's boy group), and Khalid.
