Open Until Late At Night, Satpol PP Segel 2 Cafe In East Jakarta And A Fine Of IDR 50 Million

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP Jaktim) has imposed a fine of Rp50 million each on two cafe managers in the Cakung area for violating the health protocol (Prokes).

"The maximum fine is to provide a deterrent effect for business owners who violate the rules when the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) is implemented," said East Jakarta Head of Satpol PP, Budhi Novian, quoted by Antara, Jakarta, Monday, February 15.

The two cafes are domiciled in the vicinity of the AURI Permata Inkopau Ruko complex, Jalan Raya Bekasi, Ujung Menteng.

In the sudden inspection agenda (sidak) carried out by the integrated team of Satpol PP of Pulogadung District and the Pulogadung Police's COVID-19 Hunting Team, two cafes were found to remain operating until midnight on Sunday, February 14.

According to PPKM micro-scale regulations, the maximum operating hours for cafes and entertainment venues are open until 21.00 WIB.

In addition to being fined Rp50 million each, said Budhi, officers also forcibly closed the cafe operations until the obligation to pay sanctions was fulfilled.

"Because we know that these two cafes have violated it twice, we have previously given a warning," he said.

If the manager is still determined to return to operating outside the permit of the relevant authority, the next penalty is a fine of Rp. 100 million in accordance with local government regulations.

"We have prepared heavier sanctions if they are still open," he said.

In addition, officers also forcibly closed two other cafes on Jalan Rawamangun Muka Barat and Jalan Sunan Drajat Rawamangun, East Jakarta.

"We have been given a written warning letter," he said.

Budhi added that the fine money from PPKM violators was then deposited into the regional treasury of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
