KPK Recalls Rhoma Irama's Son Regarding Alleged Bribery In Banjar City

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has recalled the son of the dangduter Rhoma Irama, Rommy Sahrial.

He was summoned after not being present at the investigation into the alleged bribery case under the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in Banjar City.

"Re-summoning (Rommy, red) as a witness in the alleged corruption case at PUPR Banjar City," said Acting KPK spokesman for prosecution Ali Fikri, Monday, February 15.

Regarding the material for the investigation to be carried out, Ali did not elaborate. However, the anti-graft commission had previously asked Rommy to comply with the investigator's summons to be examined as a witness in the alleged bribery case.

It is known that Rommy recently denied his involvement in this case. He admitted that he had never played a project and did not know the perpetrators in the cases that occurred in the 2012-2017 period.

Not only that, but Rommy also denied that he was absent from the KPK summons and considered that the letter sent to him was the wrong address. This is because the spelling of his name in the letter is not correct.

He admitted that in the letter, the spelling of the name written was Romy. Meanwhile, his name is Rommy.

As previously reported, the KPK is currently investigating the alleged bribery related to infrastructure development in Banjar City. In addition, the anti-graft commission has yet to announce a suspect in this case.

In an effort to investigate this bribery case, the KPK has collected evidence, both witness testimony, and conducted searches in a number of locations in the city of Banjar. One of the places that were searched was the Mayor of Banjar's pavilion.
