Amazon Restricts Competitor Ads On Apple Product Search
JAKARTA In order to clear its device from competing ads, Apple struck a deal with Amazon. This agreement makes the search page more highlighting Apple's products.
From The Verge report, Amazon's apps and websites on iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and other Apple devices must remove or minimize competitor ads, particularly during Apple's device searches.
For example, users looking for the iPhone 15 on Amazon will only get the appropriate product. The banners at the top and bottom of the page will not display advertisements from competitors like Samsung, but advertisements brought by Apple.

In addition to reducing ads from competitors, Amazon is also reducing the appearance of ads in Apple device searches. Amazon users on Apple will not find recommendations such as products associated with this item and items according to the 4th rank of the star and above.
The Verge has asked Apple directly and the company confirmed that Apple and Amazon are indeed making an agreement. Apple spokesperson Fred Sainz also said that the results of the agreement limited advertising in the search room regarding Apple products.
Meanwhile, former Amazon Retail Head Jeff Wilke wrote in a DPR Judiciary Committee release that he understood Apple's desire not to push its device users to competing brands.
We understand that Apple doesn't want to push sales to competing brands on search pages or details.... On the product details page, we understand that Apple doesn't want to see the placement of any products that recommend non-Apple products," Wilke wrote.
This huge desire from Apple certainly requires compensation. Until now, it is not yet known how much funds Apple has to pay. However, Wilke said, "Apple needs to buy this placement or compensate Amazon for the loss of advertising revenue."
