Honda Signals The Presence Of Two Latest EV Cars Launching In 2024
JAKARTA - Japanese manufacturers are currently quite lagging behind in EV development. But they have planned various efforts to catch up with the presence of more EVs in the future, including Honda.
Honda confirmed that their future EV will be built on an internally developed platform, namely e:N Architecture F, and is planned to launch in 2025. Currently, the company has provided a leak regarding the presence of two models that will use the platform.
According to a Paultan report, Friday, November 10, Honda provided instructions regarding the presence of production models e:NP2 and e:NS2, especially for the Chinese market. The design of the two will change compared to the version previously displayed at Auto Shanghai 2023.
Although both will share the platform, the exterior design will both have striking differences. The design of the front and back will both feature unique lighting and bemper design.
Model e:NP2, for example, will have a C-shaped headlights design connected to a light bar near the engine hood. Meanwhile, e:NS2 will feature a 'H'-shaped headlights design with a wide lampbar. The back of the two will also be different, where the back light e:NP2 forms the 'U' letter that leads down.
Although there are differences in the exterior design, the two have a back look similar to a coupled car, with the top roof sloping down, giving a concise impression on the dimension of the vehicle.
Looking into the cabin, e:NP2 and e:NS2 will have similar design languages. Both feature a minimalist dashboard with a sleek digital instrument cluster and a large touch screen. A button-style gear transfer will be placed on the center console along with other vehicle controls, while drivers will get a head-up look.
Although detailed specifications have not been disclosed, Honda stated that both will be present in two lithium-ion ternary battery options. The first option will use a 53.6 kWh battery, with a range of up to 420 km according to CLTC. The front driving electric motor will have a power of 180 dk and a torque of 310 Nm.
The second option is expected to use a 68.8 kWh battery which provides a range of up to 510 km. The electric motor on this option will have a power of 201 dk and a torque of 310 Nm.
