SBY Talks About The Presentation Of Good Criticism, Eko Kuntadhi Touches The Student Incident Of Self-Immolation
JAKARTA - The 6th President Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) uploaded a narrative containing how to properly convey criticism of the government. This is thought to be related to the polemic of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) statement about the community being asked to criticize the government.
However, a different view was conveyed by social media activist Eko Kuntadhi. Through his Twitter account @eko_kuntadhi, he said what SBY said was not in accordance with what happened during his leadership.
"For Sondang Hutagalung, the student who demonstrated burned himself because of his frustration. What medicine is sugar? Sondang protested against the President. And you were the president at that time", wrote Eko, quoted by VOI, Saturday, February 13.
Sondang Hutagalung is a student at the Bung Karno University. He died due to suicide in front of the State Palace in 2012 or during the leadership of SBY. The motive behind the self-immolation is strongly suspected to be the result of deep disappointment with the injustice and poverty that crush the people and nation of Indonesia.
The motive was conveyed by Sondang's older brother named Herman at the Office of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras), in Jakarta, January 19, 2012.
Based on the findings of Sondang's writing in his lover's book, Putri, an apology was written to the family. "On the back, there is another inscription. There are words cursed ...",
Putri's notebook was previously brought by Sondang. Then, Sondang had time to leave the book to her aunt Putri.
The content of Sondang's writing at the end of Putri's book is "cursed for injustice, cursed for indifference, cursed for poverty, cursed for pain and sadness, cursed for the evil rulers, cursed for the criminals, after I have no more feeling".
