Polemic Age Of Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates, Prabowo: Hey Elite-elite In Jakarta, No More People's Nipu
JAKARTA - The presidential candidate for the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Prabowo Subianto touched on the issue of a fuss over the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the minimum age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates. Prabowo admitted that he was confused because there were still many parties who tried to limit the age of the candidates for leaders.
According to the Minister of Defense, many parties are looking for excuses to prohibit someone from running as a leader. Some are called too old, some are called too young.
Prabowo said that the Indonesian people should be grateful because there are still people who want to become leaders, such as mayors or governors and even presidents.
"If later everyone doesn't want to be (leaders), what about it? Yes, right? People want to serve, right? In fact, they are looking for this, that's it, it's too young, it's too old," Prabowo said in the Declaration of the Barisan Entrepreneurs Fighters at Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, November 8.
The chairman of Gerindra then offended the elites in Jakarta. Prabowo felt that the capital's elites were trying to deceive the people with the content of the age limit for the candidate leaders. In fact, according to him, the current community cannot be fooled anymore.
"Eh, our people are not stupid, our people everywhere I see they already have all the gadgets, they understand," he said.
"Hey elite-elite in Jakarta, you can no longer cheat on our people right now," said Prabowo.

Therefore, Prabowo reminded political elites not to compete for positions with unhealthy competition. Because, said the former Danjen Kopassus, the most important thing is to advance Indonesia, not personally.
"So, it doesn't matter who wants number one, number two, number three, right? How come it's really cold, right? This is a country of 280 million (residents, ed)," he concluded.
