Dino Jelusick Not Interested In Replaceing David Coverdale At Whitesnake

JAKARTA - In a new interview with Chris Akin Presents, Croatian singer/multi-instructionalist Dino Jelusick was asked about rumors he would replace David Coverdale as Whitesnake frontman.

Jelusick was recruited by Whitesnake for their last European tour.

"Well, because there is no official statement about what everyone guesses... And I actually heard a lot of stories from behind that I was actually brought up to replace [David]," Jelusick said.

"He never really asked me officially, but I heard from a very close person that he was thinking about it. So I don't want to say that because I heard it from someone close to him, so I don't want to say this," he continued.

"But, for me, Whitesnake is David Coverdale, and to be honest, I'll never want to take that position. I don't want to be a young man who sounds great singing David Coverdale's songs. I'm myself and I want to do a lot of things myself. I want to do it with my own songs. "

David Coverdale is Whitesnake, and if the band has to end because he wants to retire, then the band will have to end because he wants to retire, "explained Jelusick.

"Because this way you can find someone to replace Steven Tyler, someone to replace Robert Plant, and these bands will continue. I don't think that's the point."

"I sing a lot, of course, live. If you come to see Whitesnake, you pay attention to You can see it. I sing Slide It In half-heartedly with him, and I cover a lot of things, with Michele [Luppi], a keyboard player. So there's a lot of work; a lot of work. And I enjoy the tour. We had fun with [European tour colleagues] Foreigners and Europe, the two bands I love. And, yes, that's really cool."
