Anies Hopes Palestine's Defense Action At Monas Jakarta World
JAKARTA - Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan hopes that the Palestinian defense action which will be held at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, will be known throughout the world.
This was revealed by Anies after attending the Palestinian Defense action. According to him, the world must know that Indonesia firmly supports Palestinian independence.
"Our action today is hopefully to echo around the world. From the easternmost country this world span, where the sun rises, there is a spirit of freeing Palestine," said Anies at Monas, Sunday, November 5.
In the on-stage oration, Anies had called on the entire mass of the Palestinian defense action to document his call for support to be uploaded and distributed.
Anies asked the scarf attributes brought by the action participants to be tied to the paved wrist. Then, participants were asked by Anies to record via their respective cellphones while he was doing the speech.
"Strengthen your hands and there is the flag of Palestine and Indonesia. The left hand holds the cellphone. Turn on the camera. We gather here because it sends a message to the world. It is not gathering here because of our interests. We want the world to see that from a country the easternmost is sent by the dawn of the Palestinian rise," Anies exclaimed.
Anies emphasized that the request to document calls for support for Palestinian independence in this action means that Indonesia rejects the occupation of the Israeli nation.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are not sending this message to us. We want the world to hear from Indonesian soil that we reject colonialism," said Anies.
