KAI Properti Gandeng Voltare, Bangun Edge Data Center Along The Railway Network
JAKARTA - KAI Properti (PT KA Properti Manajemen), which is centered in Jakarta, has collaborated with data center management company VOLTARE (PT Voltare Lintasdata Teknologi) as a technology partner to support the transformation and breakthrough in the management of the Indonesian Railway property managed by KAI Properti.
"With this collaboration, in the future, the Rail Network and Railway Station will not only be seen as a network connecting human transportation and goods, but will also be seen as a Network for Internet Connection and Digital Services for Connecting strategic cities in Indonesia," said KAI Properti President Director Junaidi Nasution, in his statement, Wednesday 1 November.
KAI Properti as a subsidiary of KAI, manages KAI's assets and land, most of which are located in strategic areas of Java and Sumatra which are in excellent agreement with the character of the Edge Data Center (EDC) service development which requires a location close to the use of digital services.
Voltare, a Data Center company that is in the construction stage of a Hyperscale Data Center with a capacity of 150 MW over 10ha Daan Mogot, revealed that with the Edge Data Center in KAI strategic locations, it will be complementary to the Hyperscale Data Center.
Both hope that this project will be an important milestone in supporting technological developments in the country and providing superior solutions for customers in the Edge Computation and Content Delivery Network (CDN) sectors.
"The future of the Internet in Indonesia is a combination (i) of Cloud Computing Technology (Hyperscale Cloud) services that are centralized, high-security and massive, with (ii) EDGE computing technology services that are distributed, very low- latency and are closer to service users. By providing an integrated Hyperscale Data Center and Edge Data Center, Voltare will be home to digital technology players in Indonesia," said Jastiro Abi, President Director of Voltare.
