Erick Thohir: ACE-YS Becomes The Motivater Of Innovation In The Creative Industry

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Erick Thohir said that the conference of The Asian Creative & Digital Economy Youth Summit (ACE-YS) could be a driver of innovation and entrepreneurship in the creative industry.

According to Erick, this conference carrying the slogan "New Waves from the SEA" is a kind of beacon for cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing.

What is more important, he added, ACE-YS provides bridges for creative young people to connect with global investors.

"Our mission is clear, advancing collective action among young Asian people, so that they can become global players in the creative and digital sectors. We want to create a platform for them to develop skills, share ideas, and connect with potential investors," Erick said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 28.

Erick said the opportunities that ASEAN youth in the creative economy have need strong support from cultural diplomacy.

According to him, this initiative projects the government's commitment to creating a sustainable ecosystem.

He also stressed his commitment to encouraging cross-border collaboration among ASEAN youth and promoting the Asian creative economy sector in the global landscape.

"This is not just a vision, this is a path to the future where Asia leads the world in the digital and creative economy sector," he said.

In the domestic context, Erick reminded that Indonesia has the potential to become the largest digital economy market share in ASEAN.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian population is also dominated by young people.

Related to this, Erick also hopes that ASEAN, China, Japan, and South Korea countries (ASEAN+3) as well as participants who attend ACE-YS to find the best solution in maximizing existing opportunities together.

"I believe in young people, future generations, and I know that together, there is nothing we cannot achieve," he said.

This ACE-YS Conference brings together young professionals in the creative economy from ASEAN, China, Japan, and South Korea (ASEAN+3).

During the activity, they will share experiences and solve problems. The hope is that this can encourage the acceleration of creative economic growth.

The series of ACE-YS activities were opened to the public and took place at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta.

The event was held from Saturday, October 28 and ended on Sunday 29 October.
