Google Prepares IDR 31.8 Trillion Investment To AI Company, Anthropic
JAKARTA - Google has agreed to invest up to USD 2 billion (IDR 31.8 trillion) in an artificial intelligence company called Anthropic. In the early stages, Google has injected USD 500 million (IDR 7.9 trillion) into the company, and they are also committed to adding an investment of USD 1.5 billion (IDR 23.8 trillion) within a certain period of time.
Anthropic is a competitor to OpenAI, known as the creator of ChatGPT. Google's decision to increase its investment in Anthropic marks the efforts of big tech companies to be more competitive with Microsoft, which is one of OpenAI's main supporters. Currently, big tech companies are competing tightly in utilizing artificial intelligence in their various applications.
In addition to Google, Amazon also announced investment in Anthropic of up to $4 billion some time ago as part of their strategy to compete in the realm of artificial intelligence and cloud technology.
