Grief Of Victims Of Fictitious Borrowing And Data Theft From Amar Bank
JAKARTA - Daniel's anger was unstoppable in front of Amar Bank's Customer Services at the Grha Niaga Thamrin Building, Jakarta. Daniel's complaint, who was a victim of fictitious borrowing and data theft, was not well responded to by this bank.
Daniel's name was written down so that he became a debtor of this bank. Daniel is said to have borrowed Rp. 9 million from Amar Bank in December 2019. Over the past two months, there have been arrears of Rp1, 8 million that have stuck.
The profiteers used all the data on Daniel's KTP. The data recorded by Amar Bank is Daniel's name, address and KTP number. The only difference is in the part of the photo which - according to the bank - looks edited so that it is not Daniel's picture.
Another irregularity, the money was sent to an account number at Bank Mandiri. However, when Daniel checked it, Bank Mandiri even admitted that it never had an account number like that.
In the data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the job of a profiteering is an entrepreneur selling clothes. Even though the real Daniel is the director of PT BPRS in Tangerang with the position of managing director. Obviously, this problem is detrimental to him personally and to his office.
"Even though I was in need of due diligence for additional capital," Daniel told VOI, February 27, 2020.
Daniel arrived at Amar Bank at 09.00 WIB. From the start he only wanted to meet with the branch leader because two days earlier he had sent a complaint email. Daniel was even found by Customer Services who asked him to fill out a complaint form and scan the finger print.
"I clearly refuse to finger print because I am not a customer of this bank. I just heard the name. So what is finger print for?" retorted Daniel.
He feels helpless about this complaint. Directed to meet the supervisor teller until he was given the number of someone who was claimed by the bank employee to have the authority to resolve this problem.
"But until about 5 times I tried to call, it was not answered. I was angry, what does it mean to give a number but no one answered. Like playing a game," said Daniel.
Not long after, a father and mother entered Amar Bank. And apparently, they are also victims of this fictitious bank credit. Not long after, another victim who suffered a similar fate also arrived. Until a total of six victims met each other that day.
One of them is Ibu Bariah. A seller of painted clothes had borrowed IDR 10 million, last November 29, 2019. Just like Daniel, Amar Bank sent such amount of money to an account at BRI. But to BRI - after being checked, Bariah - admitted that he did not have the account number.
"Initially some have been paid in part, but I don't know now. The proof is that I can't borrow from other banks because they have been blacklisted by the bank," complained Bariah.
All victims of fictitious credit and data theft were finally invited to a discussion by Nivia, a CS Tunaiku Supervisor at a different shop. From there, Daniel learned that several of these victims had come back and forth to Amar Bank to take care of this fictitious credit problem.
"After arguing for a long time, they finally gave a letter explaining that we were not customers of the bank. We were disappointed. There were no apologies at all," said Daniel.
"Our request regarding our rights in accordance with POJK (Financial Services Authority Regulation) that we have the right to request our credit data at the bank is also not fulfilled," complained Daniel.
About six hours all the victims of this fictitious credit try their best to get an explanation. But they came home empty-handed. The bank also rejected the identities of the individuals who took their names. Even though it is not impossible, their names could be repainted in other places.
"Anyway, there is one of us whose case occurred two years ago. We suspect that from 2 years ago to February 27, 2020, how many more victims were the same as us?" closed Daniel.
