President Jokowi Asks Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road To Be Connected To Agricultural And Tourism Areas
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road, which is part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS), to be connected to agricultural, tourism, plantation, and industrial areas in order to increase economic productivity.This toll road must be connected to agricultural areas, connect with tourist areas, connect with plantation areas, connect with industrial areas. This benefits will be enormous, ” said Jokowi during the inauguration of the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road, in Palembang, South Sumatra, Thursday, October 26.Jokowi emphasized that the availability of infrastructure in Indonesia must continue to be improved.Funding for infrastructure development, said Jokowi, could use the State Budget, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) as well as private cooperation.The government uses the three funding channels in parallel to accelerate infrastructure development."The three parallels we are working on, and today thank God the 64.5-kilometer Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road has been completed and will be operated soon," he said.The toll road, which costs Rp. 12.5 trillion, has been built since 2019. Jokowi admitted that land conditions in Palembang and Lampung, which are passed by the toll road, are not easy terrain to become a location for toll road construction.The investment disbursed to complete the construction of the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road, said Jokowi, is quite large. However, the benefits of the toll road are also important for the community's economy."“Investment is indeed great but the benefits for our country, the benefits for society, will be extraordinary if we can increase productivity," said Jokowi.On that occasion, Jokowi also inaugurated the Patih Galung flyover, Prabumulih.
The 64.50 km Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road is part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS). This toll road passes through the Palembang City area, Ogan Ilir Regency, Muara Enim Regency, and Prabumulih City which is equipped with 2 intersections, 1 toll gate, and 1 TIP (rest area) type A.
