Directorate General Of Taxes: NPWP Integrated NIK Has Achieved 59.08 Million As Of October 2023

The Directorate General of Taxes (Directorate General of Taxes) of the Ministry of Finance noted that the number of Population Identification Numbers (NIK) that have been integrated with Taxpayer Identification Numbers (NPWP) reached 59.08 million as of October 23, 2023.

"Of the 71.6 million that we have to add, it has reached 59.08 million as of October 2023. That's a percentage of 82.44 percent," said Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations Dwi Astuti during a media gathering in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), quoted from Antara, Thursday, October 26.

To accelerate the integration of NIK and NPWP, Dwi said that employers can do mass matching, so that many NIKs can be integrated with NPWP in a short time.

In addition, the Directorate General of Taxes has also provided virtual assistance services or virtual help desks that can screen taxpayers in matching NIK and NPWP.

However, Dwi said there were obstacles that were out of control by the Directorate General of Taxes, such as data errors at the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil).

Although the Directorate General of Taxes has synergized with Dukcapil in an effort to match the NIK and NPWP, the data error problem needs to be resolved directly by taxpayers with Dukcapil.

"We urge taxpayers who cannot match because the wrong data is not NPWP to immediately take care of the Dukcapil," said Dwi.

The integration of NPWP with NIK is a tangible manifestation of the reform carried out by the Directorate General of Taxes in providing convenience to the public in carrying out the task of paying taxes.

The matching is done by sharing data and information about the Indonesian population from Dukcapil with information related to taxpayers at the Directorate General of Taxes.

Integration of population and tax data will also further strengthen efforts to enforce tax compliance because population data is source data used by many government agencies and non-governmental institutions, so as to increase the effectiveness of tax compliance monitoring.
