PUPR Minister Basuki: IKN Development Progress Has Been More Than 40 Percent
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono stated that the progress of the development of The National Capital City of Archipelago (IKN Nusantara) in East Kalimantan has now reached more than 40 percent.
"What is being done now is also progressive, everything is more than 40 percent," said Basuki at the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) campus, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, October 26.
Basuki ensured that all development programs at IKN ran smoothly, so that now many buildings have been erected in the area.
"So, if in the past there were six buildings, for example, now there are more than 10 buildings. If you want a percentage, divide it up and down, because it's getting bigger, but according to the program it's going well," he said.
According to Basuki, on November 1 2023, President Joko Widodo will lay the first stone or groundbreaking for the construction of the Very Very Important Person (VVIP) Airport at IKN.
Reporting from the Ministry of PUPR's LPSE page, the value of the physical construction package to fulfill some of the development needs of the VVIP IKN Airport (airstrip side) reached IDR 4.28 trillion, sourced from the 2023 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).
VVIP IKN Airport has a runway of 3,000 x 45 meters and is capable of landing large-body aircraft such as the Boeing 777-300 ER and Airbus A380.

The groundbreaking, continued Basuki, will also be carried out for a number of other buildings at IKN.
"There are seven if I'm not mistaken. There has been a coordination meeting for the President's visit there," he said.
