The Murder Case Of Medelin In Kutai Barat, Has Been Processed By Law, Don't Be Provoked By SARA Issue

JAKARTA - The police confirm that the case of the murder of a woman named Medelin in West Kutai, East Kalimantan, has been prosecuted. The public is asked not to be provoked by the issue of SARA circulating on social media.

"That a murder case is a pure crime has no connection with SARA. The positive legal process is underway. The public should not be provoked by wild issues that cannot be accounted for”, said West Kutai Police Chief Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant (AKBP) Irwan Yuli Prasetyo when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, February 10.

The murder of 20-year-old Medelin took place on Monday, February 1 at Sumber Sari, Barong Tongkok. The perpetrator named Muhamad Munawir has been arrested and is currently undergoing legal proceedings.

The murder was discovered when the victim was found lying with a sharp weapon wound on the neck. According to the police, the perpetrator initially asked the victim to have sex by giving IDR 2 million.

"However, the victim refused to be intercourse with, for this incident, the perpetrator had a grudge against the victim and contacted the victim to come to the perpetrator's house with the lure of IDR 600 thousand", said the police report.

At the perpetrator's house, the victim was again asked to have sex but was refused. The perpetrator threatened the victim with a knife and then grabbed the victim. The perpetrator then stabbed the victim blindly.
