Ferdinand Hutahaean: There Are People Who Build Critical Opinions To Be Terrifying Things

JAKARTA - The former politician from the Democratic Party, Ferdinand Hutahaean, said that there were a number of parties who tried to build an opinion criticizing the government to be a frightening thing.

He even mentioned senior economist Kwik Kian Gie, who said he was afraid to comment on his opinion about the government.

"There are some people who have awakened the opinion that criticizing is scary in this country. Really this is a form of hatred who tries to slander," he wrote via his Twitter account @ FerdinandHaean3 quoted by VOI, Wednesday, February 10.

According to him, people who claim this are actually dishonest in seeing the existing conditions. He even gave an example of economist Kwik Kian Gie, who admitted to being afraid but criticizing his Twitter account.

"They said they were afraid to criticize, even Kwik Kian Gie said he was more afraid than the New Order era. This is a dishonest statement. The proof is that Kwik conveyed his words as criticism without fear. He only wanted to build an opinion to discredit the government. Pdhl Kwik has a lot of criticism," he said. .

He considered, so far President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the palace have never jailed people for criticism. So, people who say they are afraid to criticize, including Kwik Kian Gie, are actually just hallucinating.

Even if there are activists and politicians who are later prosecuted by the police, this is because they convey fake news, hoaxes that spread fake news. So naturally, they are prosecuted and that doesn't mean Jokowi's government is authoritarian.

"So the conclusion, if someone talks about himself is afraid to criticize but convey a sentence of fear in criticism, it means he is not honest with himself .. !!," he concluded.
