Riau Police Ask Propam To Investigate Bungaraya Police Chief Bringing Corruption Convicts Out Of Prison To Check Palm Oil Gardens
RIAU - Riau Regional Police (Polda) admitted that they would take firm action against AKP SelAMEt, the Bungaraya Sector Police Chief (Kapolsek) in Siak Regency bringing prisoners or prisoners in suspected corruption cases out of prison by car.
The Head of Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Mohammad Iqbal, said that his party had received a report on the case. He has asked the Special Crimes and Propam of the Riau Police to investigate this case.
"It is suspected that the police chief invited one of the detainees entrusted by the prosecutor to check the garden. I have asked to investigate. If it is proven that there has been a violation of discipline or a professional code of ethics, the action is in accordance with applicable regulations," said Iqbal in Pekanbaru, Riau, Tuesday, October 17, which was confiscated by Antara.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Riau High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) Supardi admitted that he had not received a report regarding the Siak Kejari detainee being taken out of the cell by the Bungaraya Police Chief, AKP SelAMEt. According to him, taking prisoners out of the cell is allowed if the reason is urgent.
"I have not received a report related to that. It is okay to bring out detainees on the grounds of an emergency or urgent need," he said.

Suparmin, who is a state civil servant at the Siak Agriculture Service, has been named a suspect in alleged corruption in the misappropriation of subsidized fertilizers in Kerinci Kanan District in 2021. He was named a suspect along with six other people
