DPR Questions Ministry Of Health's Budget Tens Billion For MotoGP, The Answer Is The President's Mandate

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health submits a budget to Commission IX of the DPR for IDR 84.3 trillion in 2021.

In the discussion work meeting, the DPR questioned a budget ceiling of IDR 30 billion for the implementation of the MotoGP race. Director General (Dirjen) of Health Services of the Ministry of Health, Abdul Kadir, said that the submission of a budget of tens of billions was a direction from President Jokowi.

"The MotoGP event is a national and international event which is a priority activity because it is the mandate of the president," said Kadir at the Parliament building, Senayan, Tuesday, February 9.

Kadir explained, a budget of IDR 30 billion was proposed to build health facilities around the Mandalika circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

Apart from that, the budget will also be used to provide health workers with international standards. They are an emergency team when the riders have an accident and need medical assistance.

"We have allocated a budget of Rp. 30 billion for the Moto GP budget and the goal is to build a medical center facility close to the Mandalika Circuit and also to prepare health workers for international standard training," explained Kadir.

"So, what we are going to make is a kind of medical emergency center team, a kind of clinic inside the Moto GP arena. So the medical center facility is near the location at the time of the accident we can get quick treatment there," he continued.

Then, if it has been used for the holding of the MotoGP racing event, these health facilities can also be used for public services.
