Residents' House Fires In Pedati, Nine Fire Car Units Deployed To Locations

JAKARTA - A house on Jalan Pedati Timur Dalam, RT 12/09, Bidara Cina Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, was scorched by the red rooster, Sunday, October 15, noon.

"The object burned down was only one house with an area of 150 meters belonging to Dian. The fire was extinguished at 10.08 WIB," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, to VOI, Sunday, October 15.

The fire is thought to have originated from a spark caused by an electrical short in the house's cable network.

"The cause is suspected to be an electrical short from the rented house," he said.

A total of 9 fire engines were deployed to the fire site. The fire was finally extinguished by 45 firefighters.

"There were no casualties or injuries. The loss is estimated at Rp. 100 million," he said.
