Sandiaga Uno Projects Economic Turnover During The AIS 2023 Summit Reaches IDR 200 Billion
BALI - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno projects that the economic value turnover from the entire series of Archipelago and Island States (AIS) Archipelago and Island States (AIS) Forum activities will reach more than Rp200 billion.
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2022, the average expenditure of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia costs around 1,500 United States (US) dollars.
"Those involved from the AIS Forum are around 50 countries. If each country brings 20 delegates, then we will see that there are 1,000 people, and this 1,000 people multiplied by 1,500 US dollars. This impact can reach a significant value above Rp200 billion," Sandiaga said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 11.
Sandiaga also invited delegates and state leaders who were present at the AIS Forum to travel to tourist villages on the Island of the Gods. Because cultural-based tourism is an interesting thing when visited, not only entertainment tourism that Bali has.
In Bali, of course, tourist villages, culture-based tourism because they were also surprised that they read it. If they go to Bali, they only read parties, beach clubs, and so on. In fact, what we encourage is more towards ecotourism, cultural tourism by prioritizing quality and sustainable tourism," he said.
