Mercedes-Benz Trucks Officially Launching EActros 600 Long-distance Electric Truck Version, Segini Tempuh Distance

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz Trucks launched the first battery-powered remote truck version. The manufacturer presented Mercedes-Benz EActros 600 to the international public at an event in southern Hamburg on October 10, 2023.

With electric trucks in the heavy-duty sector, Daimler Truck intends to set new standards in highway transportation, especially in terms of technology, sustainability, design, and profitability for electric vehicle fleet operators.

"Unlike other trucks, the 600 eActros represents the transformation of freight transport transportation on the highway to CO2 neutrality," said Karin R&Dstr\"om, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, in an official statement received by VOI, Tuesday, October 10.

This model has a high battery capacity of more than 600 kWh, so this model is named 600. The new highly efficient electric driving axis is developed internally allowing the e-truck to reach a distance of 500 kilometers without recharging.

In addition to CCS charging of up to 400 kW, the 600 eActros will be able to use Megawatt (MCS) charging. Since the start of the sale, customers will be able to order pre-installations for this. Once MCS technology is available and standardized across all manufacturers, then MCS will be possible to install on this 600 eACtros model.

Batteries can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes at charging stations that match the output of about one megawatt.

"This truck is equipped with a very innovative driving technology, which offers our customers very high energy efficiency, and thus also offers profitability. This makes e-mobility even more attractive to fleet operators," he added.

Interestingly, the EActros 600 has three battery packages of 207 kWh each. This provides a total installed capacity of 621 kWh. The battery is based on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cell technology and is characterized by a long life.

Development engineers at Mercedes-Benz Trucks have designed the 600 eActros to meet Actros' commensurate durability requirements and have the same components as Actros in the Heavy-Duty sector. This means the tech truck can reach up to 1.2 million kilometers in ten years.

At the end of this period, batteries still have to be more than 80 percent healthy. In addition, unlike other battery cell technology, LFP technology allows about 95 percent of the installed capacity to be used. This allows for a longer distance with the same installed battery capacity.
