Want To Be Free To Work, Ello Talks About Genre Changes In His Current Music Style

JAKARTA - In recent years, Marcello Tahitoe alias Ello has been known for his image as a rock singer. Not only was he appointed as the vocalist of Dewa 19, he also won awards several times as a rock singer at the AMI Awards.

However, through the release of the latest song entitled Do Over, Ello talked about his transition as a rock singer. Currently, he chooses not to want to curve his creativity with certain genres.

"I'm actually not too worried about that. That means, I just music and I want to make any music that I want. That's what is stated in my next works," said Marcello Tahitoe when met in Sudirman, Central Jakarta on Friday, October 6.

Ello realized his decision might be opposed by some people, including his fans. However, there is confidence that what he has can still be accepted by people.

"Maybe in terms of marketing, where do you want to take it? Just come back again, I'm a musician, what will be the common thread is the voice of my voice and my work, whatever the shape of his work is," he said.

Ello has actually gone through changes in image. He appeared to the public with the image of singer RnB, who led him to the first victory at the AMI Awards.

When changing course to rock music, Ello actually felt that music was a complete unity for a singer.

"According to me, the RnB singer must try singing rock, rock singers must also try singing RnB," said Ello.

The 40-year-old singer also did not rule out trying other genres. He doesn't mind if the rock labels that have been attached lately have to change.

This is the beginning of a new cave musical adventure. Through this song Do Over, in the future I can be even more free to explore with all kinds of music," concluded Marcello Tahitoe.
