Arema FC will challenge Borneo FC in the 15th week of Liga 1 2023/2024. Both teams will clash at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar Regency, Bali, Friday, October 6.
Arema FC is on its way to bounce back after a bad start to the season. Slowly the team nicknamed Singo Edan got a positive result.
The presence of a new coach, Fernando Valente, makes Arema now appear more convincing. This is also what is ready to be served when facing Borneo FC, the leader of the standings.
"When we played with the team and collective ideas, we were able to surprise Borneo FC and win the game," Valente said.
The Portuguese coach revealed that there were a number of factors that made the team with the nickname Singo Edan optimistic that they would be able to win three points. In addition to appearances that are starting to improve, the confidence and enthusiasm of players are the capital to beat the opposing team.
"By facing Borneo, we have one great opportunity to show we are ready to beat the opposing team," said Ze Valente's father.
For this reason, he has prepared tactics for the match, including tactical organizing and controlling the ball and understanding each other between Arema players when fighting on the field.
Even so, he admits that Borneo FC is one of the strong teams in the Indonesian League 1 this season with competitive, experienced players. In addition, the visitors were also mixed with coaches who had experience in the top competition of Indonesian football clubs.
"Borneo is a very good team, they have experienced good players, competitive players, and have coaches who understand the Indonesian League," he said.
Arema currently only collected 13 points with three wins in 14 matches.
However, in the last four matches, Arema recorded impressive results. They beat Bhayangkara FC 2-0, then held back Persita Tangerang's 0-0 draw, lost to Persebaya 1-3, and won against PSS Sleman 2-1.
