Trade Expo Indonesia 2023, Ministry Of Trade Pockets Commitment To Transactions Of 9.2 Billion US Dollars
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) admits that it has pocketed a trade transaction commitment of 9.2 billion dollars or equivalent to Rp. 143.6 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 15,600) ahead of the peak of Trade Expo to 38 of 2023.
The Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Didi Sumedi, explained that the commitment worth US$9.2 billion was obtained from a number of Indonesian trading partners.
"A little leak, from the MoU that we have collected from several trade representatives, thank God, until now, not until D, it has reached 9.2 billion US dollars. Hopefully this achievement will continue to grow," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of Trade Office, Jakarta, Thursday, October 5.
For your information, the TEI 2023 exhibition will be held offline from 18 to 22 October 2023 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten. This coincides with the online or online TEI series from 18 October to 18 December 2023.
Didi said the number of trade commitments would be calculated thoroughly both from offline activities, as well as from online activities at the end of December 2023.
"We will count at the Trade Expo exhibition which was completed on December 18, the second final tally. This means that the hybrid is complete. This will produce the final number of transactions that we can get," he explained.

Regarding the transaction target, said Didi, this year's target is around 11 billion US dollars.
According to Didi, this figure increased by 10 percent from last year's target.
Even so, this figure is still lower than the realization of Trade Expo Indonesia's 2022 transaction of 15.83 billion US dollars.
"Our transaction target is to set 11 billion US dollars, there is an increase from last year which we set 10 billion US dollars. We hope that thanks can be achieved 100 percent on a target basis, we hope it can be above that. Because what we have collected to be conveyed in the MoU at Trade Expo, almost 10 billion US dollars will be, to be precise 9.2 billion US dollars," he said.
