Check Cipinang Main Market, Minister Of SOEs: Rice Prices Have Dropped 11 Percent
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said rice prices at the Cipinang Rice Main Market (PIBC) had touched an altitude of around 11 percent.
This data was obtained, after Erick made a working visit to PIBC, East Jakarta, with the National Food Agency (Bapanas/NFA), Perum Bulog, and ID Food.
"It was explained that it had dropped 11 percent," he told reporters at PIBC, East Jakarta, Wednesday, October 4.
Regarding the high price of rice in the market, said Erick, price reductions will occur gradually in line with the large stock that is rolling in the market.
Erick explained, when the price of rice was expensive, the stock in PIBC was around 21,000 tons.
Then, the stock continues to be added to reach 31,000 tons at this time.
"It's gradual, right. Previously, it was conveyed that in the past the stock was only 21,000, the president pushed it up to 35,000, now with a stock of 31,000 it has dropped 11 percent," he explained.

Regarding rice stocks, Erick said, currently controlled by Bulog, the amount has reached 1.7 million tons.
This figure will increase in November 2023 to 2 million tons.
"Indeed, we continue to intervene, but as previously stated, there are already 1.7 million rice stocks (tons) in Bulog, at the end of November (to be) 2 million (tons). But we cannot work alone, the community, traders, the government must be all pro-people, so what? The price is good," he said.
