Official! Indomobil And Inchape Acquisition Of Mercedes-Benz Indonesia
JAKARTA - PT Indomobil Sukses International Tbk (Indomobil) together with Inchope Motors Private Limited (Inchape) have officially completed the acquisition of the Mercedes-Benz brand distribution and production in Indonesia.
This inauguration occurred through the signing of the Deed of Transfer of Shares on Friday, September 29, 2023, attended by Notaries. All shares of PT Mercedes Indonesia (MBI) and PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia (MBDI) have successfully transferred ownership to Indomobil and Inchape.
"This is an extraordinary achievement, completing the acquisition of Mercedes-Benz Indonesia and expanding our global partnership with Mercedes-Benz. We have achieved success with Mercedes-Benz as partners in America and most recently in the Philippines," said APAC CEO Inchcape in an official statement received by VOI on Tuesday, October 3.
In detail, share ownership will be divided into Indomobil holding 30 percent and Inchape owns 70 percent. This signing is a continuation of the process of appointing Indomobil and Inchape as producers and distributors of the Mercedes-Benz brand in Indonesia in March this year.
Despite changes in ownership, Mercedes-Benz confirmed that the factory located in Wanaherang, Bogor, will continue to operate without any changes in both personnel and policies.
"By combining our experience and competence in the Indonesian market with the global capabilities of Inchcape, we believe the Mercedes-Benz brand will continue to grow and develop in Indonesia," said Indomobil President Director Jusak Kertowidjojo.
