BPS Records Bengkulu Exports Up 20.59 Percent To 15 Million US Dollars As Of August 2023

BENGKULU - The Central Statistics Agency noted that the export performance of Bengkulu province in August 2023 increased by 20.59 percent compared to in July the previous month.

"The total exports of Bengkulu Province in August 2023 reached 15.13 million US dollars. This export value increased by 20.59 percent when compared to July 2023 which was recorded at 12.55 million US dollars," said Head of BPS Bengkulu Province Win Rizal quoted from ANTARA, Monday, October 2.

The export value of Bengkulu Province in August 2023, said Win Rizal through the port of Baai Island, reached 14.19 million US dollars or 93.76 percent of the total exports of the province nicknamed Bumi Rafflesia.

"Through the Port of Boom Baru (South Sumatra) 0.94 million US dollars (6.20 percent), through Soekarno Hatta 5.81 thousand US dollars (0.04 percent), and through Denpasar, Ngurah Rai 264 US dollars (0.002 percent)," he said.

The commodities exported by Bengkulu Province in August 2023 were dominated by coal commodities amounting to 12.77 million US dollars or 84.39 percent of total exports.

Then, palm oil shells amounted to 1.42 million US dollars, around 9.37 percent of total exports, rubber amounted to 0.94 million US dollars or 6.20 percent, loan sharks amounted to 4.32 thousand US dollars or 0.03 percent.

"This increase in exports is due to the increase in coal commodity exports by 12.75 percent and exports of palm oil shells in August 2023. However, rubber exports have decreased by 22.91 percent when compared to exports in July 2023," he said.
