PAM Jaya Targets Jatiluhur I SPAM Project To Reach 19,000 SR By 2024
JAKARTA - The Regional Public Company (Perumda) of Drinking Water Jaya (PAM Jaya) supports the Jatiluhur I Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) project from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) which provides 19,000 Home Connections (SR) until 2024, or the equivalent of 83,200 people in Jakarta.
"This year the target is 9,000 house connections first, then next year it will be 10,000, so next year until July our target is 19,000 house connections," said Director of Services for Regional Public Companies (Perumda) for Drinking Water Jaya (PAM Jaya) Syahrul Hasan, quoted from Antara, Saturday 30 September.
The Jatiluhur I SPAM project, said Syahrul, is one of the efforts to achieve 100 percent of the availability of clean water in DKI Jakarta effectively and efficiently. The project has a capacity of 4,000 liters/second with an achievement of 300,000 house connections.
So far, the Jatiluhur I SPAM project has run smoothly. According to Syahrul, one of the challenges of this project is because his party needs to make adjustments, especially in terms of manpower.
"Well, this is what we are currently trying to do. You could say that there has never been a PDAM in Indonesia doing a very big job, yes, but the time is very limited, meaning that if others outside Jakarta may increase their production capacity, we will immediately have 4,000 liters/second," explained Syahrul.
The target of 19,000 house connections also received support from various stakeholders from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov), mayors, sub-districts, and sub-districts.
On the other hand, PAM Jaya appealed to the people of Jakarta to be able to save on the use of clean water and switch to using PAM Jaya water compared to the use of groundwater.
In addition, Syahrul also mentioned that there is another SPAM infrastructure project with a KPBU scheme prepared for DKI Jakarta and its surrounding areas, namely SPAM Regional Karian - Serpong with a capacity of 3,200 liters / second, SPAM Djuanda / Jatiluhur II with a capacity of 2,054 liters / seconds, and SPAM Buaran 3 with a capacity of 3,000 liters / seconds.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Human Settlements targeted the construction of the Jatiluhur I Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) project to be completed in 2024.
"It is targeted that the construction of the Jatiluhur I SPAM can be completed next year," said Director General of Human Settlements Diana Kusumastuti when met by ANTARA in Jakarta, Friday (29/9).
Diana said the progress of the construction of SPAM Jatiluhur I until August 2024 had reached 47.47 percent. SPAM infrastructure facilities are urgently needed to supply clean water needs to DKI Jakarta and its surrounding areas, which still need a lot of clean water and that need is currently not 100 percent.
So, to increase 100 percent service coverage by 2030, the Ministry of PUPR, through the Jatiluhur I Regional SPAM project, increased the amount of water supply by 4,000 liters per second.
