OIKN Targets MRT Development At IKN Starting After 2024
The Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) targets the construction of rail-based transportation modes in the city (MRT) and high-speed trains to connect IKN Nusantara with partner areas, namely Balikpapan and other provincial capitals in the Kalimantan region, carried out after 2024.
"In the advanced stages of IKN development after 2024, a rail-based transportation mode was built in the city (MRT) and a high-speed train connecting IKN with partner areas (Balikpapan) and other provincial capitals in the Kalimantan region," said Deputy for Green Technology and Digital OIKN Ali Berawi, in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday 30 September.
Ali also added that the use of Urban Air Mobility (Sky Taxy) transportation modes and autonomous vehicles (autonomous vehicle) has also begun to be carried out,
"As for the 2024 target, public transportation in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) includes the provision of electricity-based bus public transportation services along with bus stop/shelter support facilities and Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) facilities. There are also facilities for pedestrians and bicycle users within the KIPP 1A area," he also said.
So far, flying taxis are a mode of transportation that is still in the development stage, not yet included in the commercialization stage.
The trial or proof of concept which will be carried out in 2024 is part of the development and utilization of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) technology at IKN.
"Next year Sky Taxy and the autonomous vehicle will be the trial showcase of the proof of concept of the development of modern transportation mode technology which is part of the development of IKN as a city of today and the future," said Ali.
The development of an intelligent transportation system by utilizing digital technology, such as the installation of sensors/Internet of Things (IoT), cameras, and the use of big data and artificial intelligence starting in 2024. Through the development of IKN, Indonesia is part of and plays an active role in the development of world technology.
