Palace With Batik Shows 7 Nusantara Kingdom Clothing
JAKARTA - The Batik Palace fashion show features a collection of typical batik from seven kingdoms in the archipelago that carries the concept of the splendor of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
"We invite seven kingdoms, including those from Solo, Yogyakarta, Sumenep, Gowa, and Cirebon. They will issue their batik collections," said Jakarta Experience Board President Director Landi Rizaldi during a rehearsal at the Palace of Batik at the Merdeka Palace. According to Landi, the performance held by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) is part of the 2023 National Batik Day Commemoration which is focused on the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday (1/10).
"This event was made to commemorate Batik Day which falls on October 2. But because it falls on Monday, we will advance it on Sunday," he said.
Broadly speaking, said Landi, the activity adopted thestreet fashion concept so that it was carried out
in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
"We want to present the splendor of the palace, so that many lights are decorated and we use LEDs for catwalks," he said.
"The organizers divided the fashion show participants into nine groups, each featuring Indonesian batik," added Landi.
In addition to presenting models from among top state officials, the organizers also involve celebrities, social activists, and sportsmen.
In addition to fashion shows, the Berbatik Palace also presents a row of capital city artists for entertainment sessions. They include singer Sri Rossa Roslamina Handiyani, Fadli from Padi Reborn, and others.
"It is hoped that with a warning like this, the public will appreciate batik culture more," he said.

He said batik became Indonesia's Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTb) which had been recognized at the UNESCO session in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates through the Intergovernmental Committee for the safeguard of the Intangible Cultural Heritage session on October 2, 2009.
Meanwhile, Acting Director of National and International Events of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Ni Komang Ayu Astiti said the activity would be attended by President Joko Widodo and First Lady, Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and Mrs., the ranks of the Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, Ambassadors from friendly countries, to the Keraton Family.
