Alleged Defamation, Hotman Paris Reported To Bareskrim

JAKARTA - Hotman Paris' lawyer was officially reported by Kate Victoria Lim (16) to the police regarding allegations of defamation and slander, on Wednesday, September 27. The report was received and registered with Number: LP/B/312/IX/2023/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI, 27 September 2023.

The report made at Bareskrim Polri was reportedly hampered and only limited to making public complaints (dumas) on Tuesday, September 26. However, Alvin Lim's daughter's report was finally received by officers.

Kate said the report was finally made after this issue caught the attention of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Therefore he thanked the National Police Chief.

"I would like to thank the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the highest leader of the National Police, as well as Mr. Kabareskrim Komjen Wahyu Widada for accepting us to meet. We just met. Receive us as people who are seeking justice," Kate said in a written statement received, Thursday, September 28.

"Thank you for granting our request, namely the first, namely to make a police report to the lawyer Hotman Paris, against allegations of defamation and slander. Thank you also to netizens and all of our supporters," added Kate, who was accompanied by her attorney.

According to Kate, the police report against Hotman showed the equality of the position of all citizens before the law.

"This proves that there is indeed an equality before the law, as well as proving the promise of the National Police Chief, including Hotman Paris, he is not immune to the law," he said.

Hotman was reported by the police on suspicion of defamation. It is said that Alvin used Kate to defend her father in a number of legal cases that ensnared him. One of them is handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.
