Confesses Tanah Abang Traders To Trade Minister Zulhas: Visitors Are Only Traveling, Sir, Shopping Is Not

JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan visited Blok A Tanah Abang to check market conditions. He arrived at around 11.00 WIB.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas toured the market to listen to complaints from traders. One of them is a seller of Berna Muslim clothes.

"Sir, nowadays it's difficult, sir. Ramein is Tanah Abang again, sir. Let people shop here," he told Zulhas, at Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 28.

The merchant admitted that only a few visitors came to Tanah Abang. In fact, he said, visitors only came to take a look.

Therefore, the trader asked Zulhas to buy his merchandise.

"Mr. visitors don't come. If there is just a walk, don't shop. You can now shop here," he said.

Zulhas also agreed to the merchant's request. He asked how much the clothes he sold.

"Yes (I bought), how much is one shirt?," asked Zulhas.

Traders explain that the clothes sold vary in price. For short sleeves, it costs Rp. 60,000, while the hands are Rp. 70,000 long.

Murah sir, Rp. 60,000 really. If it's long, it's Rp. 70,000," said the merchant.

Zulhas said he would buy 10 pieces of koko shirt at a cut price of Rp. 60,000. He also issued six sheets of Rp. 100,000 denominations.

"Yes, I bought 10 pieces," said Zulhas.
