BMKG: Earthquake In Sinabang Aceh Due To Fault Zone Investigators
JAKARTA - Head of the BMKG Earthquake and Tsunami Center Daryono said an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 in the southwest of Sinabang City, Aceh, was due to activity at the Fault Zone Investigator.
"By paying attention to the location of the epicenter and the depth of the hypocenter, the earthquake that occurred was a shallow type of earthquake due to activity at the Fault Zone Investigator," Daryono said in a statement as reported by Antara in Jakarta, Thursday, September 28.

Previously, on Thursday at 00.47 WIB, a tectonic earthquake rocked the Indian Ocean west of Sumatra or southwest of Sinabang City, Aceh.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located at coordinates 0.94 degrees North Latitude (LU); 93.10 degrees East Longitude (BT), or precisely located at sea at a distance of 445 km southwest of Sinabang City, Aceh, at a depth of 10 km.
According to him, from the results of the analysis of the source mechanism, it shows that the earthquake has a sliding mechanism (strike slip).
The earthquake had an impact and was felt in the Banda Aceh area with an intensity scale of II-III MMI (The vibration felt real in the house. Feels the vibration as if the truck is passing).
