TikTok Clarifies Hoax, Government Needs To Know

JAKARTA - Since TikTok was first released in Indonesia in September 2017, this social media platform has been loved by various groups, be it teenagers, adults, and even parents.

TikTok is one of the social media platforms that is experiencing very fast growth, as it offers features that allow each user to create short videos with music, filters and several other animations.

Apart from being considered an entertainment platform, TikTok is also used by many people for educational purposes, especially in the field of language and art. The data states that Tiktok has a much higher level of engagement than Instagram, Snapchat, or Facebook. In January 2020, about 34 percent of users actively posted an average of one TikTok per day.

In Indonesia, it turns out that there is currently massive misinformation and disinformation around TikTok, so the company feels the need to create a special page to clarify and straighten out various inaccurate understandings.
